THE BLACK BOOT DIARIES – Be Careful What You Wish For

It is last weekend. While crossing the Interstate on the overpass walking bridge on the way home he “hears” a voice. The voice sounds Midwestern:

“I wish there’d be an earthquake right now.”

He finds this wishful thinking hilarious. He has no problems crossing and does a little dance in celebration of no earthquake.

He wonders today if what’s attached to the voice still wishes for that. He wonders if the meaning of “sand castles” is clear yet. He wonders if two sets of zealots have yet decided to mend their ways.

Wanting something and actually getting it are two different things.

(EDIT 2012-01-08: Note that there were around 500 or 600 minor tremors before the earthquake that hit Virginia in the days {including the 21st} leading up to it. It would not have been impossible I expect for someone to know it was coming with
