The article on the NY Times article discussed over here at Reason mentions the curious timing of the report coming out and the bombing taking the headlines away. The quote from the former article:
A nonpartisan, independent review of interrogation and detention programs in the years after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks concludes that ‘it is indisputable that the United States engaged in the practice of torture’ and that the nation’s highest officials bore ultimate responsibility for it.
How could it be more obvious? Murder your own citizens in order to cover up previous illegal activities. It will continue as well, you can bet on it. There is no low too low for these criminals to stoop to.
