Widening Gyre {Updated}

Or, F— Yeats: The center must hold.

First, if I directed you personally to this post via twitter, it’s because I’m fond of you. I suppose I should apologize for that because somebody, somewhere who wields a lot of power really hates my guts. So…sorry.

This post is to get some things out in the open. A differing opinion from someone who has had his world shaken enough to stop seeing it the way it was taught and to see it for what it is. Not that my version is the end-all and be-all of the truth, far from it, but that what I describe did happen, is likely true, and therefore the “doesn’t happen” has been violated to the point I can say without a doubt, it does happen.

{Updates above notes at bottom}

Free Speech and Society’s Greater Good?

If we don’t show violence in a safe, virtual way, how are we to inform people? The Torture Report, the little we have of it, could be described as misogynistic. Should we then not have it out in the open because it offends on a politically correct basis?

A Clockwork Orange, for example, is supposed to make you feel ill. If you instead think it a comedic romp, you probably work for the government or one of its anything-for-money private contractors in service of their banking, pollution, and defense industry overlords. The origins of the novel came about because during WWII Anthony Burgess’ wife was gangraped and later died from complications of that by three American soldiers. The soldiers were sent back to the US and there was no justice for her. I trust that makes it clear somewhat what drove him to write it and to question the powers that be. **

Next we have, of course, the Charlie Hebdo situation. Of course the press should not be afraid of publishing whatever is newsworthy, and a satirical magazine should be allowed to make fun of what it wants, though a} expect a backlash sometimes, hopefully not a deadly one, and b} does it serve to illuminate in some way or does it merely serve to anger people? If the latter, I suggest it’s about as socially beneficial as taffy is to diet and teeth. But that’s not illegal. We as consumers must use our power, organize, boycott, spread the word, respond.

The problem both of these things bring up is related to Gamergate as well. Is depicting men as the a-holes that some of them can be always “wrong” if the purpose is to reflect that fact? This is not what I want to dwell on. To me, the Gamergate situation was about organized stalking and how much better the forces of darkness are at rallying for their cause than the forces of light. But that’s not the bottom line here.

The problem is, we are arguing about free speech and cartoons when the truth is there are so many other rights, including just being left the f— alone to live, being violated daily with impunity.

It’s a good point. To publish or not to publish?

Wrong Question

But was the Charles Hebdo shooting even about the cartoons, or were they merely low hanging fruit, easier to get to from a security standpoint?

Or was it even something else entirely?

F— Pavlov Too: We Must Stop Salivating at the Sound of the Bell

If you aren’t familiar with OPERATION NORTHWOODS, you should be.

3. A “Remember the Maine” incident could be arranged in several forms:

a. [The United States of America] could blow up a US ship in Guantanamo Bay and blame Cuba.

4. [The United States of America] could develop a Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington.

… The terror campaign could be pointed at Cuban refugees seeking haven in the United States. We could sink a boatload of Cubans enroute to Florida (real or simulated). [The United States of America] could foster attempts on lives of Cuban refugees in the United States even to the extent of wounding in instances to be widely publicized.

… [The United States of America could explode] a few plastic bombs in carefully chosen spots, the arrest of Cuban agents and the release of prepared documents substantiating Cuban involvement also would be helpful in projecting the idea of an irresponsible government.

… These efforts can be magnified and additional ones contrived for exposure. For example, advantage can be taken of the sensitivity of the Dominican Air Force to intrusions within their national air space. “Cuban” B-26 or C-46 type aircraft could make cane-burning raids at night. Soviet bloc incendiaries could be found [having been planted by the United States of America].

8. It is possible to create an incident which will demonstrate convincingly that a Cuban aircraft has attacked and shot down a chartered civil airliner enroute from the United States to Jamaica, Guatemala, Panama or Venezuela. The destination would be chosen only to cause the flight plan route to cross Cuba. The passengers could be a group of college students off on a holiday or any grouping of persons with a common interest to support chartering a non-scheduled flight.

If you aren’t familiar with the Bush Administration’s plan to paint UN on the side of a plane and trick Iraq into shooting it down {maybe even shoot it down themselves} in order to get UN support for invasion, you should be.

Andy McSmith, “Bush ‘plotted to lure Saddam into war with fake UN plane’,” The Independent, 3 February 2006:

If you didn’t know that the Boston Marathon Bombings came on the heels of a previous torture report followed by the dedication of a library, you do now.

Sheldon Richman, “New Report Blows the Lid Off America’s Recent History of Torture: And shows that when it comes to conserving the national-security state, it matters little which party is in power,” Reason, 5 May 2013:

“A nonpartisan, independent review of interrogation and detention programs in the years after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks concludes that ‘it is indisputable that the United States engaged in the practice of torture’ and that the nation’s highest officials bore ultimate responsibility for it.”

So began a page-one story in The New York Times that should have dominated public discussion for days and begun the process of coming to terms with this shameful chapter in American history. Unfortunately, the story ran April 16, the day after the Boston Marathon bombing, and thus got little notice. And just as attention on Boston was waning, the George W. Bush Library and Museum was dedicated in Dallas. Unsurprisingly, neither President Obama nor the ex-presidents assembled to celebrate the event (and the Bush administration), mentioned this “nonpartisan, independent review.”

If you on the one hand disregard news outlets who get their information from governments when you know they are lying but then don’t question their accounts when you don’t, you should probably re-think that.

Really you should reconsider. Doesn’t even have to be known by those who carry it out, see? Apply that to terror groups.

Are we really so damned naïve as to think it doesn’t happen? One need only look at the profits, the contracts, and the character of the people involved to smell a rat. Proving it is another thing, of course, but c’mon…

Here’s what else was happening.

Sara Nathan and Martin Gould, “Revealed: Bill Clinton, Mick Jagger and Donald Trump were in black book of Prince Andrew’s sex abuser friend Jeffrey Epstein,” DailyMail, 6 January 2015:

Right. Not that Clinton or Trump were engaged in sex with minors, but c’mon. This is going to bring up Bill’s past again and drag it all up just as Hillary and Jeb are about to duke it out. Not that any staunch Republican would hold Trump to the same moral standands unless they are backing a different horse or were running against him themselves.

That’s twice.

Now, back to Charlie Hebdo.

At what point is a human being justified in engaging in violence in retribution for actions directed at him or her? At what point?

Here’s my shortlist:

Dead grandmother – or attempted to make me believe that they were responsible. Is there a huge difference?
Dead acquaintance – see previous post.
Dead dog – coupled with all sorts of frustrations designed to provoke a violent response.
Arson of home of friend and her father, 23 December 2009
Ruined longterm relationship – straight out of Church/Tower on COINTELPRO
Drugged out of my effing mind – see history of MKULTRA, esp. FBI agent George Hunter White
Lots, lots more and it still hasn’t completely stopped.

This is how it works: suckerpunch you from a distance, make sure you know it was not an accident, not simply nature taking its course, and then wait for you to explode and provide news with lie after lie. This is how the United States of America and its allies conduct their business. If you aren’t already so inclined, then they also drug you with shrooms or alkaloids or the like to make rational thought and therefore coping nigh-to-impossible.

See, I have the advantage of knowing how easily people can be, are being, confused and manipulated. How to communicate that to people who can’t believe it for any number of reasons is no easy task. It was years of this before I stopped saying to myself, “There must be some kind of mistake,” and instead realized, no, they really are trying to make me go postal.

And while I didn’t see Charlie Hebdo coming, because I didn’t know that #opDeathEaters news was breaking the way it almost did ceptcartoonsinstead, I have for months known that something would happen to persuade Judge Lindsey to throw the book at Barrett Brown, solidified all the more when DoJ delayed the sentencing to January:

Of course I still think there’s more to come this weekend. Besides the Paris attack, there were attacks in Yemen.

And if there isn’t, well they’ll just go to plan B.

And besides Boston coming on the heels of the old torture report, just as Watts’ attorney made a motion to move the trial from here to Detroit, the Christmas Day bomber “slipped through the grasp” of CIA and one of its contractors on a flight to Detroit. They will use terror and fear to manipulate, distract, confuse and divide. Stop falling for it.

Now, let’s talk about that case and the willful ignorance that surrounds it. The original charges were linking to a bunch of data which also contained the credit card information of Stratfor subscribers {including the husband of Judge Preska who sentenced Jeremy Hammond}. Were it not for that, would there have been FBI raids of his home? Were it not for that, would there have been anything else, anything, that is ultimately what they are attempting to hang the whole thing on from a legal standpoint, and then to throw all the rest back in as a means of extending the sentence?

Barack Obama has claimed that he is in the business of protecting national security. And yet every action he takes does the opposite. He has sold us out to the highest bidder. Period. His actions speak louder than any of the many, many lies he and his administration have thrown at us. It is therefore much, much worse than any of us–probably even me–believe. Not only are MINARET, SHAMROCK, and COINTELPRO back, but so are MKULTRA and MHCHAOS. And all of these programs are much larger, much more sophisticated than they were last time.

Democratic Republic: America’s elites were just never that into you.

Jeremy Scahill, “Al Qaeda Source: AQAP Directed Paris Attack,” First Look/The Intercept, 9 January 2015:

UPDATED — A source within al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula has provided The Intercept with a full statement claiming responsibility for the attack against the offices of Charlie Hebdo in Paris

Context is everything:

Jeremy Scahill, “Blackwater’s Black Ops,” The Nation, 13 September 2010:

The Nation has previously reported on Blackwater’s work for the CIA and JSOC in Pakistan. New documents reveal a history of activity relating to Pakistan by Blackwater. Former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto worked with the company when she returned to Pakistan to campaign for the 2008 elections, according to the documents. In October 2007, when media reports emerged that Bhutto had hired “American security,” senior Blackwater official Robert Richer wrote to company executives, “We need to watch this carefully from a number of angles. If our name surfaces, the Pakistani press reaction will be very important. How that plays through the Muslim world will also need tracking.” Richer wrote that “we should be prepared to [sic] a communique from an affiliate of Al-Qaida if our name surfaces (BW). That will impact the security profile.” Clearly a word is missing in the e-mail or there is a typo that leaves unclear what Richer meant when he mentioned the Al Qaeda communiqué. Bhutto was assassinated two months later. Blackwater officials subsequently scheduled a meeting with her family representatives in Washington, in January 2008.

More context:

Victor Marchetti, “Propaganda and Disinformation: How the CIA Manufactures History,” The Journal of Historical Review, Fall 1989 (Vol. 9, No. 3), pages 305- 320, first presented at the Ninth IHR Conference, Feb. 1989, in Huntington Beach, California.

In the eyes of posterity it will inevitably seem that, in safeguarding our freedom, we destroyed it. The vast clandestine apparatus we built up to prove our enemies’ resources and intentions only served in the end to confuse our own purposes; that practice of deceiving others for the good of the state led infallibly to our deceiving ourselves; and that vast army of clandestine personnel built up to execute these purposes were soon caught up in the web of their own sick fantasies, with disastrous consequences for them and us.

— Malcom Muggeridge, May 1966

That, in a nutshell, sums up what the CIA has accomplished over the years through its various clandestine propaganda and disinformation programs. It has unwittingly and, often, deliberately deceived itself — and the American taxpayer. The CIA is a master at distorting history — even creating its own version of history to suit its institutional and operational purposes. It can do this largely because of two great advantages it possesses. One is the excessively secret environment in which it operates, and the other is that it is essentially a private instrument of the presidency.

The real reason for the official secrecy, in most instances, is not to keep the opposition (the CIA’s euphemistic term for the enemy) from knowing what is going on; the enemy usually does know. The basic reason for governmental secrecy is to keep you, the American public, from knowing — for you, too, are considered the opposition, or enemy — so that you cannot interfere. When the public does not know what the government or the CIA is doing, it cannot voice its approval or disapproval of their actions. In fact, they can even lie to your about what they are doing or have done, and you will not know it.

About the Author

For 14 years Victor Marchetti worked for the Central Intelligence Agency, where he rose to be executive assistant to the deputy director.

Underlining this is CIA’s own Manual of Guerilla Warfare:

This concept of guerilla warfare as a political war turns Psychological Operations into the factor that determines the results. The target, then, are the minds of the population, the entire population: Our troops, the enemy troops, and the civil population.

Any why-oh-why am I the one saddled with trying to hold it together?

Greenwald {and others who seem to always escape accusations of “holding back”} has the NSA portion of the Panopticon from Snowden.

And Mark Ames is right, they have the capability, have for some time, and certainly are engaging in this:

Mark Ames and Alexander Zaitchik, “James Bond and the killer bag lady: New clues and a powerful Wall St. skeptic challenge the official story of CIA financier Nick Deak’s brutal murder,” Salon, 2 December 2012:

And I’m f—ing telling you they tried to do it with me. If you have any question about that, ask.

But Ames has a hard on for Omidyar and so resistance to the Deep State is hobbled by that.

Likewise with Sibel Edmonds and the meaning of “Balkanization,” which is to say fanning the flames of hatred to foment radicalization in order to exploit it.

But she had to go on a tirade about Greenwald’s personal life and other business.

It will all be handed over to the new pharaohs, the multinationals. There will be nothing but your worst nightmares come alive in the streets every single day. It will be like living A Clockwork Orange but for real and those doing the violence will be agents of the corporate state.

And it will be because we allowed our corporate-loving overlords to manipulate us into fighting amongst ourselves and being distracted from the iron ring.

Clarification: Yeah, it’s made of iron instead of brass. Do not ask why.

** I am also of half a mind to think some spooks are having a laugh since I did an Alex monologue {video taped} for entry into an acting class in college. Well that combined with some of my writing. They are all about the divide and the conquer.

Just note how what happened in Paris supports the notions of Bill Maher and the rest of the anti-theist crowd that Muslims are all untamable lunatics who need to die and be tortured.

The Alex monologue sucked by the way. Now, my end-of-semester Pacino in …And Justice for All: That was something to behold if I do say so myself.
